Delving Into The Division's Dystopian World In this universe, a lethal pathogen called Green Poison was unleashed in NYC, plunging the United States into chaos. As the pandemic escalates, society crumbles and violent factions emerge, transforming the urban landscape into a warzone. To restore law and order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a covert network of sleeper agents. That’s where the agents enter the story. Work on the game has been in progress for approximately several years, and it is reportedly finished. The forthcoming crowdfunding effort will function as a preorder system to access a wider audience, specifically in North America. Manufacturing will start right after the campaign, with shipping expected for the latter part of 2026. An Innovative Tactical System: The GRIS System An early look at the system confirms it uses 10-sided dice exclusively through its new GRIS system, encouraging a fast-paced and tactical style. Players use abilities to roll small dice pools, typically between one and five d10s. Rather than summing the total, participants select a single “result die” from the group. This dice is then measured against a set challenge number. Achieving a perfect 10 triggers special effects, such as extra damage or boosted support. Combat Emphasize Positioning and Situational Insight Fights stress positioning and environmental awareness, mirroring the video games. Elements like taking cover, height advantage, or visibility have a direct impact dice rolls. This system seems built to favor coordination and clever tactics instead of simple statistics. A Novel Wound Mechanic The way injuries is managed introduces a compelling thematic twist. Operatives have a wound threshold; taking heavy hits weakens their effectiveness by lowering the number of d10s. At zero health, an operative collapses, but is not unconscious. They can still move and take limited actions, simulating the "downed" state common to video game shooters. Any player knocked down must roll on a trauma table, risking persistent effects like trauma or mobility-impairing wounds. An Introductory Adventure A free Quickstart Guide is promised in the near future. It contains a ready-to-play introductory scenario titled Ashes of Murray Hill. In this scenario, players spearhead the hunt for a missing medical team and must thwart an assault by the violent Rikers faction, who have seized control of that Manhattan district. More specifics and the complete product lineup are expected to be unveiled near the Kickstarter start date.
