Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Vehicle Accident

The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned industry figure lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in LA on Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
